Orchid is an advanced chord generating synthesiser designed to help musicians of all levels find what’s on their mind. Its intuitive design invites musicians to effortlessly generate, modify and experiment with new chords and progressions, and then apply voicings, sounds and performance styles.

Keyboard

A one octave keyboard used to determine the root note of chords.

Chord Types

Determines the type of chord. Only one chord type can be used at a time.

Chord Extensions

Additional notes that add complexity to your chord. Multiple modifiers can be used in combination.

Chord Voicing

Turn the Chord Voicing dial to shift the position of the chord.

Bass Voicing

Turn the Bass Voicing dial to shift the position of the bass note.

Sound

A Sound is a combination of synth texture, FX and Performance. Sounds can be customised by adjusting the FX and Performance settings.

Performance

Determines how the chord is played. Only one Performance mode can be active. Long press to lock the setting so that changing the Sound doesn’t affect the performance.

FX

Multiple sound effects can be added. Adjust the strength of each effect. Long press to lock the setting to that changing the sound doesn’t affect the FX.

Key

Automatically generates diatonic chords in the selected key signature based on your chosen note.

Display

Shows menus and chords. Different chord display modes are available in Options.

Bass

Outputs the root of the chord as a bass note from a seperate synth engine. Turn to select bass sound. Press to turn on and off. Long press to select different Bass modes.

Loop

Press to enter Loop Mode where chords and melodies can be looped and overdubbed. Turn to select BPM synced, Free or a set number of bars. Press again to start and stop recording.

BPM

Tempo that loops, arpeggiators, patterns and delays respond to. Press to turn metronome on and off.

Options

Access preferences here, such as MIDI channel select, and display mode.

Volume

Turn to change the main volume. Press and turn to change the Bass volume.
